POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (October 11, 2017) – The Vassar College field hockey team will continue Liberty League action this weekend, playing two games over three days as the Brewers head to No. 16 Skidmore College Friday evening before hosting St. Lawrence University Sunday afternoon on Weinberg Field.

A Look At The Brewers (7-4, 2-1 Liberty League):
- The Brewers rank second in the Liberty League in scoring margin at 2.27, one of just two teams above a 2.00 goal scoring ratio.
- Vassar has posted 22.55 shots per game this season, second-most among Liberty League squads.

A Look At The Thoroughbreds (9-4, 3-0 Liberty):
- Head coach Beth Hallenbeck and her team comes into Friday afternoon's game winners in its last three contests, most recently knocking off New Paltz 2-0 in road action for the T'Breds.
- Skidmore defender Kayla Rose is second in the Liberty League in defensive saves with four.
- Gabby Hyman is fifth in the conference in goals per game with 0.69, tallying nine times in 2017.
- Marissa Folts and Miranda Davenport have each chalked up five assists this season to tie for the team high, while Caroline Saros has five scores as well for Skidmore.
- Goalkeeper Zoe McGuire has earned 10 starts out of 13 games, allowing 15 goals and making 65 saves over her 635 minutes of action in cage. She also ranks third in the Liberty League in save percentage at .813.
- Hallenbeck ranks seventh nationally among active coaches for total wins in her career, as she has racked up an impressive 329 victories during her 27 seasons at RPI and Skidmore.
A Look At The Saints (5-7, 1-2 Liberty)
- The Saints have won their last two games, earning a 5-2 win over Union College last Saturday and a 4-1 home win over Nazareth Tuesday.
- St. Lawrence in 1-3 on the road this season, with its only true road victory coming over Oswego State on September 8.
- SLU is fifth in goals per game in the conference with 2.167, while allowing 31 tallies this year.
- Tori Shaffer leads the team with six goals this year, while four others have posted three tallies on the season.
- Lucy Stillman is one of the players with three goals, while leading the squad with five assists.
- Sophie Cardenali has posted 64 saves this season to lead all keepers for the Saints, allowing 21 goals in her 709 minutes of action.
Against Skidmore & SLU All-Time: The Brewers are 7-25 all-time against Skidmore College, in a series going back to 1988. The two teams split last year's two meetings, while Vassar is looking for its first road win at Skidmore since 1991. VC is 4-15 against St. Lawrence in head-to-head matchups, though Vassar has earned wins in four of the last six meetings including a pair of three-goal wins the past two seasons.
