Vassar Women's Basketball Notes — Union, Skidmore

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 30, 2017) — The Vassar College women's basketball team (9-10, 6-4 Liberty) returns home for a pair of games, welcoming Union College to the Athletics & Fitness Center on Friday, Feb. 3 at 6 p.m. before hosting Skidmore College on Saturday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m.

Last Time Out: Vassar lost to Rochester Institute of Technology on the road Saturday, 85-61. Ariella Rosenthal poured in a game-high 24 points to go along with seven rebounds and two assists; Nicole Teta tallied 11 points and a game-best nine boards; and Isa Peczuh finished with 10 points to round out Vassar's top scorers. 
 
A Look At The Brewers (9-10):
  • Vassar sits fourth in the Liberty League standings, behind William Smith College (15-4, 9-1), Skidmore (12-7, 8-2) and Clarkson University (11-8, 6-4).

A Look At The Thoroughbreds (12-7):
  • Skidmore has won three of its past four games, most recently beating Brooklyn College on the road Saturday, 70-63.
  • Before the Thoroughbreds face Vassar, they'll battle Bard on Friday at 6 p.m.
  • Skidmore owns a positive scoring margin of 3.8, outscoring opponents by an average of 59.6 points to 55.8.
  • The Thoroughbreds are shooting 27 percent from the floor, 23 percent from distance and 65 percent from the line, while holding opponents to 34, 28 and 61 percent, respectively.
  • Skidmore has a positive rebounding margin of 1.6, grabbing an average of 41.1 boards to opponents' 39.5.
  • Kelly Donnelly is averaging a double-double of 20.8 points and 10.7 rebounds to lead the Thoroughbreds. She also paces the team with 49 steals and 14 blocks.
