POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (September 24, 2016) – The Vassar College Men's Tennis squad takes a trip over to Schenectady, NY to battle the Union College Dutchmen, before returning to Vassar for an afternoon of matches against another Liberty League opponent, Bard College. Both contests will prove to be an exciting Saturday of Liberty League play.

Last Time Out: The Brewers suffered a hard loss against the nationally ranked Williams College Ephs last Friday. The Ephs defeated Vassar 9-1, with
Juan Felipe Laso winning the only match for the Brewers at No.3 with set scores of 6-2, 6-3.
A Look At The Brewers:
- Senior Juan Felipe Laso comes into this Saturday's matches with a 6-2, 6-3 win over nationally ranked Williams College, and is sure to be a strong force for the Brewers.
- The Brewers ended last season with an 8-14 record (4-3 in Liberty League, tied for 4th) under coach Alex Wong.
- Vassar comes in with a very promising freshman class, with freshmen Jeremy Auh, Zamir Birnbach, Dom Demeterfi, and Allen Sokolov showing a lot of potential coming in to the season.
- The Brewers bring back senior Nick Litsky who finished 15-9 last season as one of four Brewers to notch double-digit victories in singles. Litsky saw most of his action last year at No.1 in singles and earned All-Liberty League First Team honors for his efforts.
A Look At The Dutchmen:
- The Dutchmen are coming off two 8-1 wins against Bard College and Mount St. Mary College on September 10th.
- The team is led in singles wins by freshman Justin Gold, who plays in the No. 5 spot.
- David Bond plays in the No.1 spot for the Dutchmen, holding a 1-3 record in singles.
- Max McGeown teams up with David Bond in the No. 1 position for doubles, holding a 2-0 dual record and a 2-2 overall record.
Last Meeting: During their last meeting in the 2015-2016 season, the Brewers cruised to a 9-0 victory over the Dutchmen, sweeping doubles and singles.
A Look at the Raptors:
- The Raptors are coming off of a 5-4 victory against Mount St. Mary College on September 15, bringing their record to 1-2 (0-2 Liberty League)
- Sophomore Satchel Fisher picked up Bard's lone victory in singles against Union College, having defeated their No. 2 player.
- Fisher teams up with Keillor Mose to play doubles at the No.1 position. The two hold a 1-2 record overall.
- Satchel Fisher, Billy Kwon, Nicholas George, and Immanuel Zion have all collected a singles win for their team
- Last time out, Billy Kwon and Zayd Normand picked up a doubles victory against Mount St. Mary, playing their first doubles match together.
Last Meeting: Last time the Brewers met the Raptors in conference play, they took home a 9-0 victory, sweeping both the singles and doubles competition.
