The Brewers were neck-and-neck with the Herons early before William Smith outscored Vassar 9-3 in the first half.

Goldstein netted the first two Brewer goals, including a man-up goal, to force a 2-all tie about midway through the half. But the Herons took off to outscore the Brewers 8-1 into the second half. Mulvehill passed to Trudell for Vassar's only goal in that span.
