Last Time Out: Five different Brewers recorded a point, led by a game-high five points from sophomore Jose Novas (Doral, FL/Gulliver Preparatory) as Vassar shutout Maritime College 5-0 on September 1.

A Look at the Seahawks: Salve Regina is coming off a 7-9-2 overall record and 4-4-1 mark in the Commonwealth Coast Conference a season ago, and is currently two games into its 2015 campaign. The Seahawks fell to UMass-Boston 3-0 in their season opener and dropped a 1-0 decision to Johnson & Wales on September 3. Salve Regina was picked to finish fifth in the Commonwealth Coast preseason coaches' poll released last month, and will have a new look this year with 10 seniors lost to graduation. The young squad will feature 18 underclassmen including 10 freshmen this season, but does return experience in team captains Steven Aston, Joseph Pate and Kyle Knoth.

Against Salve Regina All-Time: This will be the first time Vassar has met the Seahawks in men's soccer.

A Look at the Hawks: Roger Williams will look to build upon its success from a season ago, where the team finished 11-6-3 overall while advancing to the Commonwealth Coast Semifinals. The host Hawks will first face Fitchburg State on Friday, September 5, before battling the Brewers the following morning. RWU opened 2015 with a 2-0 win over Mount Ida College on September 1, giving new head coach James Greenslit his first win at the helm for the Hawks. Greenslit inherited a roster boasting 22 returning players, including junior Trevor Sparda, a 2014 All-CCC Second Team selection. The Hawks were voted to finish fourth in the Commonwealth Coast preseason coaches' poll, and will begin conference play next Saturday, September 12 against Wentworth College.

Against Roger Williams All-Time: Vassar and Roger Williams will play each other for the first time on Sunday.

Winning the First: Vassar has now won its fourth consecutive season opening game, and has not lost a season opener since the 2001 season. Since 2005, Vassar has shutout six opponents in its first game of the year.

Spreading the Wealth: Four different Brewers recorded a goal in the team's season opening win on Tuesday. Jose Novas, Tom Wiechert (Dana Point, CA/San Clemente) and Jordan Palmer (Woodland Hills, CA/Agoura) broke into both sides of the scoring column, recording at least one goal and one assist in the game.

Moving Up the Record Books: Senior Tom Wiechert moved into a tie for fifth with Brian Bianchetti ('09) in all-time goals at Vassar after recording the 26th of his career vs. Maritime. Wiechert is also tied for sixth in career points with Bianchetti and Joseph Petrucelli ('03), now with 58 in the burgundy and gray.

Strive for Five: Vassar's five goals were the most in a game for the team since netting five in a 5-1 win over Farmingdale State on September 7, 2014.

Defensive Shape: A new-look Brewer backline held up well against Maritime, allowing the Privateers just three shots on goal on Tuesday. Vassar played several different defensive combinations throughout the game, and will have a pool of options in play for the team's doubleheader this weekend.

Season Debuts: 21 different players saw the field for Vassar in the 2015 season opener, including freshmen Tyler Gilmore (Coronado, CA/Coronado), Toby Stansell (Seattle, WA/Garfield) and Tim Collins (Arlington, VA/Washington-Lee) who all made their Vassar debuts.

Captains: Seniors Jordan Palmer and Nick Hess (Troy, NY/Averill Park) will serve as the Brewer team captains this season.

Geography Lesson: Vassar's 2015 roster features student athletes from 16 different states and one international (Japan). The two most populous hometown states are California and New York, with six players hailing from each.

On to the Next One: Vassar will be back on the road Wednesday, September 9 to play Manhattanville College at 6 pm in Purchase, NY.
