Game Coverage: (Live Stats) (Live Video)

Last Time Out: Both sides netted a goal in the first half, as the Vassar men's soccer team went on to tie No. 3 SUNY-Oneonta 1-1 on September 12. Senior Nick Hess (Troy, NY/Averill Park) netted Vassar's only goal in the game in the 10th minute.

A Look at the Ducks: Stevens entered its 2015 campaign as the preseason No. 21 team in the country, and has gotten off to a solid start holding a 3-1 overall record thus far. The Ducks opened the season with a pair of wins over Yeshiva University (5-0) and Haverford College (3-2) before falling to TCNJ 1-2 on September 9. Stevens bounced back with a big 1-0 victory over No. 15 Muhlenberg College on September 13, and will be candidates to jump up a few spots in the newest NSCAA poll released tomorrow. The Ducks finished 14-4-2 overall last season, capturing the squad's eighth consecutive Empire Eight Championship while advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Senior Colin Phillips leads the Ducks in scoring this season, posting four goals including the game-winner vs. Muhlenberg. Senior Carson Pryor has three goals on the year, all coming in the team's 3-2 victory vs. Haverford on September 9. Junior Mike Renna has gotten the nod in goal in all four games for the Ducks, holding a .692 save percentage with two shutouts on the year.

Against the Ducks All-Time: The Brewers are 3-11-2 in the all-time series vs. Stevens, and will be looking for their first win vs. the Ducks since the 2000 season. Stevens picked up a 2-0 victory over Vassar when the teams met last season, holding VC to a season-low one shot in the game.

Warner Shines: Junior goalkeeper Adam Warner (Tenafly, NJ/Tenafly) turned in one of his finest performances as a Brewer against Oneonta, making seven saves while allowing just a penalty kick goal to the No. 3 team in the country. Warner was tested all game from the Red Dragons, and made several tough saves including an outstretched punch-out from a last second header shot.

Two Ties: Vassar has already matched its total for draws from 2014, tying Salve Regina (2-2) and SUNY-Oneonta (1-1) through the first few weeks of the season. Vassar's most ties ever in a season came in 2015, when the team finished with five draws.

Bounce Back: Vassar is 6-1-3 over the past two seasons in games directly following a loss.

Winning the First: Vassar has now won its fourth consecutive season opening game, and has not lost in season opener since the 2001 season. Since 2005, Vassar has shutout six opponents in its first game of the year.

Spreading the Wealth: Six different Brewers have recorded a goal so far this this season, including five players who have notched multiple goals. Senior Tom Wiechert (San Clemente, CA/San Clemente) leads the way with four.

Plus-Three: Last season, no single player scored more than three goals for the Brewers. Wiechert and senior Jordan Palmer (Woodland Hills, CA/Agoura) have already amassed at least three scores each in four games in 2015, while Nick Hess, sophomore Jose Novas (Doral, FL/Gulliver Preparatory) and freshman Tyler Gilmore (Coronado, CA/Coronado) have tallied two goals so far in 2015.

Moving Up the Record Books: Senior Tom Wiechert moved into a tie for third all-time with Aldis Butler ('05) in career goals at Vassar after recording the 29th of his career vs. Manhattanville. Wiechert is also tied for fourth with Butler in career points, now with 65 in the burgundy and gray. Jordan Palmer made his debut inside the top-10 in all-time assists, notching the 14th and 15th of his career vs. Roger Williams. His 15 assists moves him into a tie for eighth all-time with Alex Freund ('10) and current assistant coach Ross Macklin ('12).

Starters x 6: Six Brewers have started in all five games for Vassar this season including Tom Wiechert, Jordan Palmer, Nick Hess (Troy, NY/Averill Park), Gavin Jennings (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington), Hayden Van Brewer (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional) and Ben Glasner (Trumansburg, NY/Charles O Dickerson).

Strive for Five: Vassar has now scored five goals in two separate games this season, and has totaled 14 total scores on the year. The last time VC scored five goals in two games in a season was 2012, when the Brewers earned a 5-0 victory over John Jay and a 6-0 decision vs. Bard College.

Scoring Surge to Start: Vassar's 12 goals in its first three games is the most by a Brewer team since the 2003 season, when VC tallied 17 goals in its opening three games. The Brewers downed Medgar Evers 5-1 in its season opener, then went on to top No. 24 Kings Point 2-0 and Mt. St. Mary (NY) 10-0.

Season Debuts: 21 different players saw the field for Vassar in the 2015 season opener, including freshmen Tyler Gilmore (Coronado, CA/Coronado), Toby Stansell (Seattle, WA/Garfield) and Tim Collins (Arlington, VA/Washington-Lee) who all made their Vassar debuts.

Captains: Seniors Jordan Palmer and Nick Hess will serve as the Brewer team captains this season.

Geography Lesson: Vassar's 2015 roster features student athletes from 16 different states and one international (Japan). The two most populous hometown states are California and New York, with six players hailing from each.

Next Up: Vassar will make the short trip across the Hudson River to play SUNY-New Paltz on Saturday, September 19 at 1:00 pm.
