POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 17, 2015) – The Vassar men's tennis team (6-8) will host the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Rochester Institute of Technology this weekend for a pair of Liberty League dual matches at Joss Courts.
Last Time OutNew York University swept doubles, then won five of six singles matches to clinch an 8-1 head-to-head victory over Vassar on April 11. Sophomore
Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shoecrest Prep School) picked up the lone victory for Vassar on the day, beating junior Sidd Thangirala at No. 1 singles. Litsky won in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 to pick up his 12th victory on the year.

A Look at the EngineersRPI enters Saturday's match 10-3 on the season and 4-1 in the liberty League, and is currently riding a four-match win streak. The Engineers earned victories over Rochester and Hobart last weekend in a pair of Liberty League matches, including a tight 5-4 decision over the Yellow Jackets on April 12. RPI was ranked as the No. 14 team in Northeast Region in the most recent ITA Rankings, and sophomore Mickey Grimes is tabbed as the No. 25 singles player in the Northeast. Grimes and senior teammate Brandon Mazzara have joined forces to play No. 1 doubles for the Engineers this spring.
Last MeetingThe Brewers edged RPI 5-4 last season at Joss Courts in what was a mild upset victory for Vassar, as RPI was tabbed No. 11 and VC was No. 17 in the Northeast at the time.

A Look at the TigersRIT enters Sunday's contest 5-9 overall and 1-5 in the Liberty League, looking to snap a three match losing streak since April 11. RIT was downed 8-1 on April 16 to Hobart earlier this week, with their only in-conference victory coming against Bard on April 4. Amos Baptise and Kevin Layer have split time at No. 1 singles for the Tigers throughout the year, with Baptiste having more success going 3-3. Baptiste and teammate Jared Ingolia have held the best record at No. 1 doubles for RIT, currently 3-3 on the season as a pair.
Last MeetingVassar earned a 9-0 sweep over RIT last season when the teams met on March 30 in Rochester, NY, not dropping a set in singles while going 3-0 in doubles.
In the Polls ITA Division III Full RankingsVassar held its No. 19 ranking in the Northeast Region in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings released last week. Sophomore
Nick Litsky moved up one spot as he was tabbed the No. 15 singles player in the region.
