Saturday's matchup will be a battle of regionally ranked teams as the No. 19 Brewers square off with the No. 17 Violets.  Sidd Thangirala of New York University posted a perfect 3-0 record at No. 1 singles and doubles for the Violets over the weekend of March 28-29.

Last Time Out
Vassar went 2-2 during the team's spring trip to Southern California, earning wins over West Region No. 10 Whittier College and West No. 12 George Fox. Sophomore Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Prep. School) was tabbed as the No. 16 ranked singles players in the region, coming off a 2-2 week at No. 1 singles for the Brewers. Litsky claimed victories over West No. 18 Sam Farmer (Whittier) and West No. 23 Spencer Watanabe (George Fox) to cap off the week and is currently 11-6 on the season.

A Look at the Violets
In their most recent match, the Violets fell to The College of New Jersey 6-3 on Wednesday, April 1 in Ewing, NJ. NYU is coming off of its fourth consecutive winning season, finishing the 2013-14 season with an 8-3 record and a sixth-place finish in the University Athletic Association (UAA).

This year's team is led by juniors Sidd Thangirala and freshman Karan Goyal. Thangirala compiled a 3-1 singles record and a 2-1 doubles record in fall play. Goyal is coming off of a strong fall 2014 season. He went 5-1 in singles, while earning a spot in the semifinals of the ITA Northeast Regional Championships and a #16 ranking in the Northeast.

Last Meeting
The Brewers and Violets were scheduled to play last season on April 11 but the match was cancelled. The last time the teams went head-to-head was April 19, 2013, when Vassar claimed a 6-3 victory.

A Look at the Liberty League
Heading into the final weeks of the season, the Liberty League playoff race has begun to heat up. Skidmore appears primed for the No. 1 seed, holding a 5-0 conference record with matches vs. Hobart and St. Lawrence remaining. Hobart also remains undefeated at 2-0, and will end its season with five of its six matches coming against in-conference foes. The Brewers will need to take care of business down the stretch to secure a bid for the conference tournament held at the Reis Tennis Center of Cornell University May 2-3.

Up Next
Vassar will play Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Rochester Institute of Technology on April 18th and 19th at 1 pm and 10 am respectively. The matches will be held at Vassar's Josselyn Tennis Courts.
