What to Look For:
Vassar (4-3) is back on the courts this weekend facing two of the top teams in the Northeast Region on back-to-back days. After earning the team's fourth dual match victory of the weekend, the Brewers will attempt to bolster their non-conference resume with two days of tough competition ahead.
Last Time Out:
Vassar earned a clean sweep in its spring home opener at Walker Field House on February 28, besting the United States Coast Guard Academy 9-0. Vassar went up 3-0 in doubles action, then dropped just one set in all six singles matches to secure the shutout win.
A Look at the Engineers:
MIT comes into Friday's tilt 3-0 in dual matches, last picking up a win over Colby-Sawyer 8-1 on March 4. The Engineers previously downed Bentley University (7-2) and UMass Boston (9-0) to open the spring schedule, while being tabbed as the No. 39 team in the nation in the latest ITA Rankings released on March 3.
A Look at the Beavers:
Babson will play just its third dual match of the season on Saturday when the team faces the Brewers, coming into the weekend 1-0 on the year. The Beavers have a Friday slate with Bates College the day before, as both teams will play doubleheader weekends.
Last Meeting:
VC last met MIT on March 1, 2013 when the Brewers fell 9-0 to the Engineers 9-0 in Cambridge MA. MIT was ranked No. 8 in the Northeast Region at the time and went on to advance to the second round of the NCAA Championships that season.
Vassar and Babson will match up on Saturday for the first time in at least a decade.
Up Next:
Vassar will head west to California to play a quartet of dual matches over the course of spring break starting with Chapman University on Monday, March 16 at 4:00 pm.
