Results 
EWING, NJ (February 14, 2015) – The Vassar men's tennis team dropped its first dual match of the spring season to The College of New Jersey Saturday afternoon, falling 9-0 on the road. Despite playing several close matches, the Brewers were edged in both singles and doubles to move to 3-2 on the season in duals. The Lions picked up their first win of the year in dual matches to stand at 1-0. 
TCNJ started the match with a 3-0 doubles sweep, as Pierce Cooper and Billy Buchbinder earned an 8-6 decision over junior Daniel Cooper (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) and sophomore Alexander Luckmann (Berkeley, CA/Head-Royce School) at the No. 1 match. Jack August and Jason Prezant of TCNJ topped sophomore Nick Litsky and junior Evan Udine (Delray Beach, FL/Boca Raton Community) 8-5 in the No. 2 match, while Chris D'Agnostino and Sean Fernandez completed the trifecta with a 9-7 win over junior Christian Phelps (Eau Claire, WI/Eau Claire Memorial) and sophomore Juan Felipe Laso (Quito, Ecuador/Colegio America De Quito). 
In singles action, three bouts went to three sets, including the No. 2 match between August and Cooper. After going up 1-0 after a 6-3 set one victory, Cooper tripped up in the final two falling 7-6 (7-4) in the second and 10-6 in the third. Laso took D'Agostino to three in the No. 4 match, winning the first 6-4, before falling 7-5, 10-5 in the final two frames.  After going down 6-4 in the first set of the No. 6 match, Luckmann battled back with a 6-0 victory in the second to even the match. Presuto sealed the win with a 10-7 victory in the third. 
Vassar will look to bounce back next weekend when the team travels to face Liberty League opponent Skidmore on Saturday, February 21 at 1:00 pm.
