POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (November 21, 2015) - Junior Julia Cunningham posted two victories including a NCAA B-Cut in the 200 butterfly in a dual meet with New York University Saturday afternoon. The Violets secured a 173-122 victory in the team scoring. Â Â

Cunningham swam a season-best 2:06.57 in the 200 butterfly, topping her previous quickest time of 2:07.24. The time is her second NCAA B-Cut qualifying mark of the season in the event. Cunningham also took first in the 200 breaststroke, finishing in 2:29.37. Freshman Hayley Schultz was right behind Cunningham to capture second in the event with a mark of 3:31.60. Schultz was Vassar's top finisher in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:10.36.

Cunningham also posted a season-best 2:12.23 in the 200 IM to claim second in the field. Freshman Sammy Stone took first in the 1000 yard freestyle with a season-best mark of 10:41.35, over 20 seconds faster than the top Violet finisher. She also swam a season-best 5:12.05 in the 500 free, just under four seconds off the school record. Stone was also VC's top finisher in the 50 free, going 26.11 to finish third.

Freshman Mia Moraru set another diving frecord or the Brewers vs. NYU, posting a mark of 262.15 in the 1-meter, 6 dive event. The score was a Kresge pool record for a Vassar diver. Â

Kael Ragnini was the top finisher for VC in the 200 free, finishing with a mark of 2:03.71. Cali Corbett swam a season-best 2:08.59 in the event. Ragnini also posted a solid time in the 500 free, finishing in 5:20.63 to take third. Â Â Â

Madison Carroll was the top Brewer in the 100 Back, finishing in 1:08.82. Marie Schmidt was VC's first finisher in the 200 yard backstroke, touching the wall in 2:20.87. Â

Vassar's team of Ragnini, Kuo, Cunningham and Frye combined to go 1:55.83 in the 200 yard medley relay. Â

Vassar will compete for the final time this semester at the Liberty League Championships December 4-5 in Troy, NY.
