What to Look For: Vassar will play its second Liberty League dual match of the season on Wednesday against Bard, and will look to open up conference play 2-0 for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Juniors
Daniel Cooper (Piedmont, CA/Piedmont) and
Evan Udine (Delray Beach, FL/Boca Raton Community) along with sophomore
Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Prep. School) will pace the Brewers in both singles and doubles matches.
Last Time Out: The Brewers made quick work of Union on September 27, downing the Dutchmen 8-1 in the team's Liberty League opener. VC swept the singles matches, and won two out of three in doubles to come out ahead.
A Look at Bard: Bard enters Wednesday's match 0-1 on the season after dropping their conference opener to Skidmore 0-9 on September 27. The Raptors carry a fairly large roster made up of 14 players, which includes one senior and five juniors. Junior Kevin McDonald has started the season as the team's No. 1 singles player, while McDonald and fellow junior Ted Laport operate as a pair for No. 1 singles.
Last Year's Matchup:The Brewers bested Bard 8-1 in their Liberty League opener last season at Joss Courts, as the team swept the doubles matches and won five out of six in singles.
Team of the Week: Evan Udine was named the Liberty League Singles Player of the Week on Monday after winning his No. 2 singles match over Union's Grant Zaccareo 6-1, 6-3 to help the Brewers top the Dutchmen. It was the first career selection for Udine to the team of the week.
Next Up: Vassar will wrap up the fall season this Saturday in New London, Connecticut against Connecticut College.
