A Look at the Brewers (10-8, 5-1 Liberty League)
The Brewers recently completed their regular season with yet another win against a Liberty League opponent, the Statesmen of Hobart College. Though struggling against nationally ranked opponents this season the Brewers dealt with most Liberty League teams with ease. They hope to continue this trend at the Liberty League finals this coming weekend.
The Dutchmen will need to look out for the usual stand-out Brewers. Freshman
Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Preparatory School) and sophomore captain
Daniel Cooper, who is the only regionally ranked member of the men's tennis team at #25. As well as junior
William Zhu (San Francisco, CA/Lowell) and sophomore
Jeffrey Gerwin (Fairfax, CA/Sir Francis Drake) who stepped up and contributed to the Brewer's most recent win against Hobart.
A Look at the Dutchmen (2-7, 2-3 Liberty League)
The unranked Dutchmen have had a tough season with only two wins over all. They have not competed against any nationally ranked teams but have played and lost against two regionally ranked teams.
Their top singles athlete sophomore TJ Moor boasts a solid 3-4 record at No. 1 singles but is 2-6 in doubles overall. Moor and junior Grant Zaccareo is the Dutchmen's top doubles pair with a record of 2-6 overall.
Against the Dutchmen All-timeHistorically, the Brewers have dominated the Dutchmen and hold a 20-2 all-time record against. In fact, the Brewers have not lost a game against the Dutchmen since 1993.
Brewers Clean Up the ConferenceThis season the Brewers dominated in Liberty League play, finishing with a 27-9 singles record and 12-6 doubles record. Cooper boasts the top Brewer singles record of 8-6. While he and freshman
Alexander Luckmann (Berkeley, CA/Head-Royce School) make up the third best doubles pair in the league with a record of 4-1 at No. 1.
Up NextThe Brewers will next play the victors of either #2 seeded Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute or the #7 seeded RIT squad pending a first round win. The semifinals are scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 3 at 2:00 pm while the Championship round will take place on Sunday, May 4 at 10:00 am.
