    SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY (March 2, 2014) – The Vassar College men's tennis team dropped a League match to rival Skidmore College 7-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Wilton YMCA.

    Freshman Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Preparatory School) defeated Alec Hoblitzell at No. 2 singles. The match went into a third set battle with the final score ending 5-7, 6-4, 12-10 in favor of the Brewer. Vassar's (5-5, 1-1 Liberty League) other winner was sophomore Christian Phelps (Eau Claire, WI/Eau Claire Memorial). The No. 3 singles player defeated Jonah Epstein 7-5, 6-3.

    Nationally ranked #25 and Northeast regionally ranked #5 Skidmore got the early 3-0 lead with two 8-3 wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and an 8-1 victory at No. 3 duos.

    The Brewers will next travel for their spring break trip to Southern California where they will first face Chapman University on Monday, March 10 at 11:00 am. They will then face California Lutheran University, University of Rochester and Whittier College.
