    WHITTIER, CA (March 15, 2014) – The Vassar College men's tennis team ended its stay in California Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 loss to nationally-ranked #21 Whittier College on the Ettinger Tennis Courts.

    Freshman Nick Litsky (St. Petersburg, FL/Shorecrest Preparatory School) and junior Christian Lyon (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) earned the win at No. 2 doubles. They defeated Samuel Farmer and Troy Chavez 8-4.

    Freshman Alexander Luckmann (Berkeley, CA/Head-Royce School) was the only Brewer to win in singles play 4-6, 6-4, 10-3 at No. 5 against Chavez.

    Sophomore Christian Phelps (Eau Claire, WI/Eau Claire Memorial) had a close singles match but fell to Farmer 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 at the No. 3 spot in the lineup.

    The Brewers will next travel to Canton, NY for a Liberty League match against St. Lawrence University on Saturday, March 29.
