Last Time Out:
The Vassar College Men's basketball team added another win to their season record after a 70-61 victory over SUNY New Paltz. During the second half, Vassar shot 47.06 pct. from the field and challenged New Paltz down low with 22 points in the paint.

A Look at the Rangers:
Drew is riding high after scoring a school record 120 points on Sunday in the consolation game of the Rose City Classic against Penn State Abington, following a tough 79-81 overtime loss to St. Joseph's (Long Island) the day before. Freshman guard Kevin Herring II led all scorers with 23 points, making six of his eight 3-pt attempts. As a team, Drew went 22-42 from behind the arc and 44-81 from the field, in the 47-point blowout win.

Top of the Conference:
The Vassar men's basketball team was selected to finish first in the Liberty League according to the preseason coaches' poll released on November 13. The Brewers received seven first place votes and 63 points overall to secure the top spot in the poll. Skidmore was tabbed second in the league, receiving one first place vote and 57 points, while RIT came in third with the final first place vote and 44 points. Clarkson (41), Hobart (37), St. Lawrence (32), Union (27), RPI (15) and Bard (8) rounded out the poll.

Previous Encounters:
The Brewers hold a 3-2 series edge over Drew, but are 3-0 against the Rangers this millennium, including a 63-53 win at home last year. Drew's last victory over the Brewers came in 1991.

When the teams met last season, Vassar earned a 63-53 victory at home with Alex Snyder (Rutland, VT/Rutland) and Luka Ladan (Belmont, MA/Belmont) each posting a double-double with a combined 30 points and 23 rebounds. Ladan's 13 boards in the game were a career-high.

Seniors Step Up:
Seniors Alex Snyder and Curtis Smith have each led the Brewers in scoring in both of their wins this season, and will be counted on all season long for big performances. Snyder scored a career-high 27 points against Wheelock in the team's season opener, smashing his previous best of 19 back in January of 2013. Smith had a team-high 17 points in VC's win over New Paltz, three points shy of his season best.
