Olivia Harries (Temple Terrace, FL/Lee academy) added two wins a piece.
A Look at the Engineers: RPI is 1-1 in dual meets this season, downing Liberty League counterpart RIT 185-106 in its season opener October 18. The Engineers fell short of Ithaca 164-136 on October 25, and competed at the New England Invitational on November 1. The Engineers finished second at the Liberty League Championships and seventh at the New York State Championships last season.
Head of the Engineers: Shannon O'Brien is in her 20
th season at the helm for RPI, and has produced eight All-Americans on the women's side during her tenure. Her staff was named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the year in 2004, and she has guided four league swimmers of the year and four rookies of the year during her time in Troy.
Previous Encounter:Last season when these teams met, RPI earned a 164-127 victory over Vassar at home. The Engineers took victories in both the 200 medley and 400 free relay, while claiming eight individual wins to secure the meet.
Cunningham Among Nation's Elite: Sophomore
Julia Cunningham has churned out some of the top times in Division III through the first month of the collegiate season. She ranks sixth in the nation in the 200 fly (2:08.04/Skidmore) and 15
th in the 100 fly (58.90/NYU).
Next Up: The Vassar swimming and diving teams will make the short trip across the river to face Hudson Valley rival SUNY-New Paltz on November 22.
