What to Watch for
This match against the Hawks marks the end of a season-long 13-game road trip for the Brewers. Vassar currently sits at fifth in the Liberty League, having just eliminated from playoff contention at the last Liberty League weekend. After a 10-day hiatus, the Brewers will look to finish the season strong, ending their season with matches against SUNY New Paltz on Wednesday and the Sage Colleges on Saturday.

A Look at the Hawks (25-5, 9-0 SUNYAC)
New Paltz has had a very strong season thus far. Since the two teams last met, the Hawks have won 19 of their 22 matches, only falling to Johns Hopkins, Williams, and Richard Stockton. This past weekend, in the final SUNYAC Pool Play weekend, New Paltz defeated SUNY Fredonia, SUNY Geneseo, and SUNY Oswego to capture their second consecutive regular season conference title.

The Hawks run an effective offense, averaging 11.6 kills per set on a .196 hitting percentage, while holding their opponents to 9.4 kills per set on .122 hitting. Junior outside hitter Becca Borquist leads the team with 355 total kills on a team-high 1020 attempts. Borquist is followed by sophomore middle hitter Morgan Roessler with 198 kills on a team-high .287 hitting percentage. Freshman Maddie Zwicki runs the offense, dishing out 935 assists on the season. On defense, Roessler leads the team with 65 total blocks, including an impressive 37 solo blocks, while senior libero Katy Herbst paces the back court with 555 total digs.

Possible Starting Lineup: OH – Becca Borquist, OH – Anna Paulik, MH – Morgan Roessler, MH – Alli Coleman, OPP – Alex Bizub, S – Maddie Zwicki, L – Katy Herbst

Against New Paltz All-Time
New Paltz currently leads the series 12-21, dating back to 1988. The Hawks have currently won the past eight matchups, including a 3-0 victory over the Brewers on Sept. 6, 2014. The last win for Vassar came on Sept. 24, 2008, where the Brewers won in a five-set thriller.

Heavy Hitter
Senior hitter Taylor Mosley (Rowlett, TX/Parish Episcopal School) had a standout weekend for the Brewers in their last Liberty League weekend, totaling 51 kills and 38 digs, including a season-high 20 kills in just three sets against Skidmore. Mosley is currently sixth in the Liberty League with 2.99 kills per set.

Dynamic Defender
Junior libero Chloe Hallum (Olympia, WA/Olympia) continued her strong play, registering double-digit digs and at least one ace in all four conference matches, including 20 digs against RIT. Hallum is third in the Liberty League with 4.48 per set, and is just 15 digs away from moving into second place all-time in career digs at Vassar.

Petey
Due to injuries to both Sophia Tiajoloff (Kinnelon, NJ/Kinnelon) and Gabby Miller (Scottsdale, AZ/Horizon), the Brewers found themselves without a setter. Luckily, senior hitter Marie Pitre (San Dimas, CA/St. Lucy's Priory) was able to step in. Pitre dished out a career-high 27 assists against Bard, and followed that with 23 assists against Union.

Block Party
Senior hitter Clara Cardillo (San Francisco, CA/Bay School of San Francisco) has continued to be a force at the net for the Brewers, recording three blocks against Skidmore and five total blocks against RIT. Cardillo is currently fifth in the Liberty League with 0.67 blocks per set.

Handing Out Fun
Before going down to an injury, sophomore hitter/setter Gabby Miller recorded a career-high 27 assists against RIT. Miller has done an admirable job stepping in for the injured Tiajoloff, and is second on the team with 195 assists on the season.

Up Next
Vassar will finally return home for their final match of the season against the Sage Colleges on Saturday, November 1st. Before the game, the three seniors on the team, Taylor Mosley, Marie Pitre, and Clara Cardillo will be honored their hard work and commitment over the last four years.
