What to Look For:
The Brewers are coming off a 1-1 tie against Saint Lawrence, the thirteenth ranked team in the country. Last weekend they also competed against Clarkson, falling 1-2. Vassar is currently 9-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the Liberty League.

Last Time Out:
In the 28th minute, freshman Alex Gonzales scored his first goal this season to put the Brewers ahead against Saint Lawrence 1-0. In the second half however, the Saints came up with an equalizer. The game went to double overtime, ending in a 1-1 draw. Sophomore goalie Adam Warner (Tenafly, NJ/Tenafly) saved seven of the Saints' attempted shots.

A Look at the Engineers:
RPI previously faced Hobart College on October 18, tying 0-0. Before their contest against Hobart, the Engineers were coming off a three game win streak, defeating Union, Bard and RIT respectively. The Engineers are 10-2-3 overall and 4-1-1 in the Liberty League.

Senior Matt Koziol and junior Matt Carberry lead the Engineers with five goals each this season. Koziol has assisted three goals and attempted 21 shots on goal over his 1310 minutes of play. Senior goalkeeper Rob Dewald has faced 117 shots, racking up a save pct. of .864.

Previous Encounters:
In last year's game against the Engineers on October 26, the Brewers tied 0-0 on the road in Troy, NY. During the 2012 season, the two teams played twice, as the Brewers earned a 1-0 victory in the first meeting on September 22. The teams met again in the Liberty League title game, where the Engineers came out ahead 4-2 in a penalty shootout after the teams tied 1-1 through regulation.

Thank You Seniors!
The Vassar men's soccer team will honor its four seniors this Saturday for senior day. Zach Nasipak (Chandler, AZ/Hamilton), Justin Mitchell (Layton, UT/ Northridge), Andre Cousineau (Altadena, CA/Eagle Rock) and Tom Wiechert (Dana Point, CA/San Clemente) be recognized for their Brewer careers among friends and family during a pre game ceremony.

In the Record Books:
Sophomore Adam Warner is now tied for fifth all-time in Vassar soccer history for shutouts in a season, with six so far in 2014. Warner started off the season hot, racking up three consecutive shutouts vs. Maritime (8/29), Mt. St. Mary (8/31) and Western Connecticut (9/3). He earned another after Vassar blanked Manhattanville 1-0 (9/10) and picked up two more in back-to-back conference games against RIT (10/3) and Hobart (10/4).

Junior Gavin Jennings (Poughkeepsie, NY/Arlington) now only trails Zander Mrlik ('13) on the all-time list for assists in a season, picking up his eighth of the year against Clarkson last weekend. Jennings has three regular season games (in addition to any postseason games the Brewers advance to) to catch Mrlik, who holds the VC record with 10 during the 2009 campaign.

Super Starters:
Four Vassar players have started in all 15 games so far this season, including junior Jordan Palmer (Woodland Hills, CA/Agoura), junior Cosmo Veneziale (Garden City, NY/Garden City), senior Zach Nasipak and freshman Hayden Van Brewer (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional).

No Place Like Home:
The familiar, well-manicured grass of Gordon Field has been a sanctuary for the Brewers this season, who boast an 8-1 record at home. Vassar's only loss at Gordon this season came at the hands of current No. 4 SUNY-Oneonta, and the Brewers have now shutout three straight opponents on home turf.

Looking Ahead:
The Brewers will take on Union College next at home on Wednesday, October 29. Union is currently 7-7-1 overall and 1-4-0 in the Liberty League.
