HARTFORD, CT (January 14, 2014) – The Vassar College women's swimming and diving team dropped a 156-81 decision on the road at Trinity College on Tuesday evening.
Vassar's highlight came in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a one-two-three sweep of the event. Freshman
Julia Cunningham (Yardley, PA/Peddie School) led the way with a sub-minute first place finish (59.38). Sophomore
Maryam Pourmaleki (Branford, CT/Branford) finished behind Cunningham and junior
Zoe Fullerton (Los Angeles, CA/Palisades Charter) rounding out the sweep with times of 1:03.42 and 1:06.37, respectively.
Cunningham also won the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:01.50.
Senior
McKenzie Quinn (Upper Montclair, NJ/Immaculate Heart) took second in the 200 Yard Individual Medley with a 2:22.76, topping off the Brewers' top performers in the pool.
Sophomore diver
Maya Pruitt (New York, NY/Laguardia Music Art) was the second place finisher on the 1 Meter board with a score of 205.72 and again on the tall board with a final of 197.84 with
Alison Sagliocca (Stony Brook, NY/Ward Melville) taking third with a 190.20.
The Brewers will next host the annual Seven Sisters Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday, January 18 at 10:00 am and will continue on Sunday, January 19 at 9:30 am.
