    POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (October 5, 2013) - The Vassar College men's tennis team competed in its first dual match of the 2013-14 season and walked away with an 8-1 win over Liberty League opponent Bard College Saturday afternoon at Josselyn Courts.
    The doubles teams of sophomore captain Daniel Cooper and freshman Alexander Luckmann, sophomore captain Christian Phelps and sophomore Sha Huang and sophomores Evan Udine and Sean Hoy-Skubik swept the teams from Bard. Cooper, Luckmann, Phelps and Huang all won their matches, 8-3 while Udine and Hoy-Skubik didn't give up a single point.
    Freshmen Nick Litsky, Juan Laso, Jim Lee and Michael Kim all started their collegiate dual match careers with wins in singles. Litsky topped Alex Khondji, 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot. Laso defeated Ted Laport in matching sets, 6-1 at the No. 3 spot. Lee played at the No. 5 spot with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Isaac Lertola while Kim rounded out the lineup at the No. 6 spot with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Alex Weinstock.
    The Brewers (1-0, 1-0 Liberty League) will next host non-league opponent Yeshiva University on Friday, October 11 at 11:00 am. The Raptors (0-3) will next travel to Mahwah, NJ to face Ramapo College on Wednesday, October 9 at 6:00 pm.
