	    TROY, NY (October 26, 2013) – The Vassar College men's soccer team's defense held strong against a determined Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute offense Saturday afternoon. Led by senior goalkeeper Ryan Grimme (Gahanna, OH/Gahanna Lincoln), the Brewers finished the day with a 0-0 tie.
	
	    Grimme faced 22 shots with 11 on goal for a season high 11 saves. He was four away from tying his career high of 15 saves set back in 2011 against St. Lawrence University. Three of his saves came in overtime. Nathaniel Gunderson with six shots and two on goal led the Engineers. Matt Koziol also had two shots on goal out of his four.
	
	    Vassar's offense was led by junior Tom Wiechert (San Clemente, CA/San Clemente) who had three shots with one on goal. Following Wiechert was sophomore Cosmo Veneziale (Garden City, NY/Garden City) with two shots. In total, the Brewer offense fired 12 shots with three on goal against RPI's Rob Dewald.
	
	    Both teams were near equal in physical play with Vassar recording 16 fouls to RPI's 14 and both having being credited with yellow cards.
	
	    Vassar did not have a corner kick until the first overtime period while RPI totaled eight on the day with four in the second half and two in the second overtime.
	
	    The Brewers (7-4-4, 2-1-3 Liberty League) will next travel to Schenectady, NY to face Union College at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 30 in Liberty League action. The Engineers (10-4-2, 5-1-2 Liberty League) will next host Keene State in non-league action on Tuesday, October 29 at 7:30 pm.
