SOUTH HADLEY, MA (October 13, 2013) – The Vassar College women's volleyball team won two matches today during the annual Seven Sisters Championships held at Mount Holyoke College Sunday afternoon in order to claim its third place standing in the tournament.

    Junior Taylor Mosley (Dallas, TX/Parish Episcopal School) and freshman Gabby Miller (Scottsdale, AZ/Horizon) earned their places on the Seven Sisters All-Tournament Team.

    Mosley led the way in the final match for the Brewers on Sunday against Bryn Mawr College. The Brewers won 3-1 with set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-14. Mosley had 18 of Vassar's 40 kills off 41 attempts (.268 pct.) with five digs and one block assist.

    Miller supplied 31 of the Brewers' 39 assists while also having four digs, one block assist, one solo block and four kills.

    Senior Jessie Ditmore (Santa Barbara, CA/Laguna Blanca) was second on the team in kills with 11 during the match with Bryn Mawr. She had 22 total attempts in the match (.318 pct.).

    Freshman Sierra Tobin (Santa Cruz, CA/Santa Cruz) led the team with six service aces.

    Earlier in the day, the Brewers earned a 3-0 win over the host, Mount Holyoke College. The set scores were 25-18, 25-22 and 26-24.

    Miller, once again, led the Brewers with 18 assists while also having eight kills off of 11 attempts (.545 pct.), nine digs and two aces. Mosley also led Vassar with nine kills.

    Vassar's attacks were more spread around with Ditmore also garnishing eight kills. Senior Megan Andersen (Santa Monica, CA/The Archer School) had seven kills and seven digs.

    Tobin had the match-high 13 digs. Junior Marie Pitre (San Dimas, CA/St. Lucys Priory) led Vassar with three of the seven service aces.

    The Brewers (15-11, 5-4 Liberty League) will next travel to Hoboken, NJ for a 7:00 pm match start with Stevens Institute of Technology on Wednesday, October 16.
