POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 24, 2013) – The Vassar College women's basketball team will conclude the first half of its Liberty League schedule with road games against Rochester Institute of Technology on Friday and then to William College on Saturday.

Cydni Matsuoka scored a season-high 28 points on 11 of 12 shooting from the field to lead the Brewers to a coast to coast 77-64 non-conference victory over Farmingdale State on Tuesday night at the Athletics & Fitness Center. Matsuoka, who connected on 6 of 7 shots from behind the arc, scored 18 of her points in the first half. The Brewers broke out to a 16-2 lead in the first 6:17 of the game and were never challenged by the Rams. Matsuoka had a career-best shooting night and her backcourt mate, sophomore
Nyah Berg, scored a career-high 18 points on 50 percent from the floor (7 of 14).

RIT Notes: The Tigers (4-10, 1-5) fell to St. Lawrence University, 55-43, on Saturday, January 19. Senior guard Jackie Horn and junior guard Jess Kramer each scored 10 points for the Tigers. RIT is averaging 56.9 points per game while the defense is allowing 61.8 points per game. Senior guard Leslie Havens leads the team in scoring at 12.1 ppg. Courtney Tennant follows with a 10.4 ppg mark and leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 ppg.

William Smitht Notes: The Herons (10-6, 4-3) are currently in fifth place in league standings, one game behind both RPI and Vassar. In their last game, William Smith College sophomore forward Chloe Hayter matched her career-high with 25 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to lead the Herons to a 70-53 Liberty League women's basketball win at Union College. Hayter made 12-of-17 shots from the floor on her way to her third career double-double. Junior guard Erin O'Brien added 14 points, six assists, five rebounds, and three steals. Senior guard Sydni Salvatore chipped in 10 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Junior guard Sasha Borenstein also had 10 points
William Smith's offense is averaging 60.8 points per game while its defense is allowing 61.1 points per game. Hayter leads the team in scoring at 14.2 ppg, and is the only Herons player averaging in double figures. Junior guad Jacqueline Murphy leads the team in rebounding (8.5 rpg).
