POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (January 22, 2013) – The Vassar College men's swimming and diving team will host their final home meet of the 2012-13 season Wednesday evening against Montclair State University.

Vassar Men Notes: The Brewers last competed on January 12 at the Kumpf Invitational at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and January 13 when they hosted Trinity College for senior day. Senior diver Simon Whitelaw hit his personal best on the 1-meter board with a ninth-place, 203-point finish at the Kumpf Invitational before sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter events against Trinity. Whitelaw posted a personal best, 211.79 points on the 1-meter and 220.27 points on the 3-meter.

Senior Mathúe Duhaney and freshman Greg Cristina have been no less than 0.50 seconds away from each other since the Liberty League Championships. Duhaney finished 11th (23.59) and Cristina finished 12th (23.69) at the Kumpf Invitational and then the pair went first-second against Trinity (Duhaney, 23.08 - Cristina, 23.33).

Vassar Men Next Meet: The Brewers will next travel to New York University on Saturday, January 26 for a 1:00 pm meet start.

Montclair Men Roster | Montclair Men Schedule 

Montclair Notes: The Red Hawks lost to Rowan University on January 19 162-109 and New Jersey Institute of Technology on January 21. Joseph Berry, Michael Smith and Zak Westerberg combined for seven second-place finishes in the meet against Rowan. Berry earned three of them in the 1000 freestyle as he swam 10:48.60. He also placed second in the 200 backstroke (2:05.77) and the 200 individual medley (2:09.12).

Berry captured the 200 individual medley as he swam 2:05.42 before adding a second victory in the 200 backstroke (2:07.56) against NJIT. Westerberg won in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.10 and also won the 200 butterfly coming in at 2:05.20. Berry was also second in the 1650 freestyle covering the long distance in a time of 18:08.16.

Montclair Next Meet: The Red Hawks will next host Ramapo College on January 26 at 1:00 pm.

Vassar Head Coach: Lisl Prater-Lee is in her 18th season.

Montclair Head Coach: Brian McLaughlin is in his 24th season.
