Men's Soccer Suffers Liberty League Loss to St. Lawrence 2-0

CANTON, NY (September 28, 2012) – The Vassar men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Liberty League opponent and nationally ranked #9 St. Lawrence University Friday evening at Sandy MacAllaster Field.

The Saints got their game-winning goal in the 13th minute of play leaving Vassar scrambling for a goal of their own. This is the Brewers' first Liberty League loss of the season.

The Brewers are now 6-4 (1-1 Liberty League) and will travel to Clarkson University for their third Liberty League game Saturday at 2:00 pm. St. Lawrence will host Bard College on Saturday at 2:00 pm as well.

St. Lawrence's first goal came from Brian Gilloran off a one-time tip-in. Gilloran got the second goal in the 46th minute when he placed a cross pass into the top left corner of the net. St. Lawrence and Vassar were both tied with 13 shots each.

Senior Ryan Grimme had three saves while Nate Gross-Woliner had two saves for the Saints.
