AMHERST, MA (April 14, 2012) -- The Vassar College men's tennis team fell 8-1 to the defending National Champion and top-ranked Amherst College on Saturday.

Vassar's Andrew Guzick, ranked No. 3 in singles in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast region, earned Vassar's lone point at No. 1 singles, defending his ranking with a double-tiebreaker win 7-6⁶, 7-6⁵ over Northeast No. 8 Joey Fritz. Fritz was ranked No. 5 in the National Preseason rankings released November 3.

The Brewers (10-8, 4-1 Liberty) celebrate Senior Day in the final home match of the season, this Wednesday at 4:00 pm against Stevens Tech at Josselyn Tennis Courts. The Lord Jeffs (21-2) host Tufts and Skidmore on Sunday at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, respectively.
