Men's Tennis Sweeps RPI 9-0

LATHAM, NY (February 18, 2012) – The Vassar College men's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and all six singles matches to defeat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) 9-0 in Liberty League play on Saturday at Tri-City Fitness.

The Brewers (4-1, 2-0 Liberty) are back on the court next Saturday when they host Coast Guard at 4pm at the Dutchess Racquet Club. RPI (4-3) is now idle for the next three weeks before resuming action during Spring Break.

Juniors Kartik Kapoor and Dan Freeman were strong for Vassar, dropping only three and five games in total. The pair teamed up for an 8-2 win over Pat Russo and Kyle Borton at No. 2 doubles. In singles, Freeman routined Andre Vorbrodt 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 and Kapoor rolled 6-1, 6-0 on James Kim at No. 6.
