Men's Basketball Takes On CCNY Sunday Afternoon

NEW YORK, NY (December 1, 2012) – The Vassar College men's basketball team will travel to face the historic City College of New York program Sunday afternoon.

When: Sunday, December 2 at 1:00 pm

Where: Nat Holeman Gymnasium located in the Jeremiah H. Mahoney Hall, in the basement level of the Marshak Science Building

Vassar Notes – The Brewers (2-2) look to rebound after a tough 74-58 loss to SUNY New Paltz last Tuesday evening at the Athletics and Fitness Center. Sophomore guard Curtis Smith and sophomore forward Alex Snyder had the team-high scores with ten points. Snyder also pulled down ten rebounds to record his fourth straight double-double.

Snyder averages 14.0 rebounds per game and 12.8 points per game. Junior forward John Donnelly leads the bench averaging 11.0 points per game (second on the team).

Vassar Next Game: The Brewers will travel to Riverdale, NY on Tuesday for a 7:00 pm game against the College of Mount St. Vincent.

CCNY Notes: The Beavers'(3-3, 0-2 CUNYAC) David Solano came off the bench to score 11 points in 18 minutes and added back-to-back three pointers in the second half against Medgar Evans College. The spark was not enough as CCNY fell 56-41 on Friday at home.

Anthony Lewis leads the Beavers with 15.3 points per game. Brandon Reeves follows with 14.5 points per game.

CCNY Next Game: The Beavers will host Wilkes University on Wednesday night at 6:00 pm.

Vassar Head Coach: Del Harris is in his fifth season.

CCNY Head Coach: Tom Green is in his second season.
