POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (October 2, 2012) – The Vassar College field hockey team, fresh off a 9-0 victory over Morrisville State, returns to action this Wednesday and Saturday against Elms and Kean respectively.
The Brewers (5-4), who snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory over Morrisville, will host Elms on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm at Weinberg Field. On Saturday, Vassar completes its four-game home stand with a 1:00 pm contest against Kean. Saturday, the team will celebrate Burgundy & Gray Day, encouraging students to attend the contest wearing Vassar school colors.
Coming off a two goal, two assist performance against Morrisville, junior midfielder
Tina Caso leads the team in scoring with three goals and five assists for 11 points.
Elms enters the contest 2-7. Last year, Vassar scored three goals from three different players to earn a 3-0 victory.
Kean currently has a 4-7 record and will face FDU-Florham on Tuesday prior to facing the Brewers. Last season, the Cougars defeated Vassar 4-1 in the final game of the season.
