ELMHURST, IL (October 19, 2012) – The Vassar College women's volleyball team rebounded from a tough 3-1 (14-25, 25-18, 14-25, 18-25) loss to Haverford College and defeated North Park University 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-22), in opening play at the Elmhurst Invitational on Friday.
The Brewers, now 18-7 on the season, will continue play at Elmhurst on Sunday, facing Transylvania College and host Elmhurst in matches at 9:00 am and 2:00 pm respectively.
Against Haverford,
Chloe McGuire had 11 kills and
Clara Cardillo seven.
Hilary Koenigs had 29 set assists.
Chloe Hallum and
Jessie Ditmore had 12 and 11 digs.
In a decisive 3-0 victory over North Park, sophomore
Marie Pitre led the way with 12 kills and only one attack error. Her .688 hitting percentage was a season best. McGuire also had 12 kills.As a team, the Brewers hit .429, making only five attack errors in 70 attempts. Koenigs had 30 set assists.
