Women's Soccer Suffers Tight 1-0 Loss to RIT In Liberty League Matchup

ROCHESTER, NY (October 13, 2012) – The Vassar College women's soccer team fought a determined game with Rochester Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon but couldn't manage a goal in the 1-0 loss.

The game remained a back and forth struggle for almost the entire first half until Jaimie Lewandowski scored during a scrum in front of the goal in the 40th minute of play.

The loss sets the Brewers back to a record of 8-6, 3-4 as they will next host Rutgers-Newark on October 17 at 4 pm. The Tigers secured a spot in the Liberty League playoffs with the win and have a record of 9-5, 5-2.

Freshman Lucy Brainerd led the game in shots (5) and shots on goal (3) as Vassar outshot RIT 16-14

Senior Ali Higgins had four saves and RIT's Amanda Murray had six.
