Women's Soccer Succumbs to Strong William Smith Second Half, 4-1

GENEVA, NY (October 12, 2012) – The Vassar College Brewers women's soccer team fell to No. 1 Liberty League ranked William Smith College 4-1 Friday evening at Cozzens Field.

Sophomore Kelsey Domb scored the Brewers only goal of the game. William Smith tallied three goals in the second to overcome the visiting Brewers.

The loss puts the Brewers at 10-2-1, 5-1-0 and will next travel to face Rochester Institute of Technology Saturday afternoon. The Herons will next host Bard College Saturday afternoon as well with a record of 8-5, 3-3.

William Smith opened the game with an unassisted goal from Brenna Kincaid in the 40th minute from 25 yards out. The Brewers tied the game in the 62nd minute when sophomore Sarah Bourenane took a free kick and sent it inside of the box for Domb to score.

William Smith responded three minutes later off a tipped in shot from Renee Jensen and continued to add two more goals in the final minutes of play.

William Smith doubled Vassar's shots 18-9 with goalkeeper Chelsea Dunay recording three saves. Brewer goalkeeper Ali Higgins recorded four saves.
