POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (September 17, 2011) -- After conceding the game's first goal, the Vassar College women's soccer team found its form and erupted for six unanswered goals to defeat Elms College 6-1 on Saturday at Gordon Field.

Sheeva Seyfi led the offensive surge with a hat trick.
The Brewers (4-3) host Mount Saint Mary on Wednesday, September 21, at 4:30 p.m. at Gordon Field. The Blazers (0-2-1) next play Mount Ida on the road on Monday, September 19, at 3:30 p.m.
One minute after Elms' Jennifer Killon put the Blazers up 1-0 with an unassisted goal in the 19th minute,
Alix Zongrone evened the score with a volley off a corner kick by
Sarah Bourenane. Vassar began to dominate possession and took the lead in the 35th minute as Seyfi collected a ball in the box and fought off an Elms defender just long enough to slot the go-ahead goal into the lower right corner.
Vassar finished the first half up 2-1 with a 16-3 advantage in shots and controlled the tempo in the second half with 16 shots and four goals.
The Brewers added two goals early in the second half to extend the lead to 4-1 as sophomore
Kylie Ladenberger scored in the 49th minute and Seyfi scored in the 52nd minute.
Seyfi completed her hat trick with a looping header over the keeper on a free kick from
Tessa Verbanic in the 70th minute. Sophomore
Gavriella Kaplan scored the game's final goal on an open net after a save.
Freshman
Lily Lanier made her first start in goal and earned her second win of the season. For Elms, Hayley Zisk made 13 saves in the loss.
