POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (October 12, 2011) – The Vassar women's volleyball team defeated Bard College 3-0 (25-6, 25-10, 25-12) in Liberty League action on Wednesday evening at Kenyon Hall.
Playing on its annual Dig Pink night in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Brewers saw their record improve to 15-9, 5-4 in the Liberty League. Bard, a first-year member of the league, fell to 3-18, 0-9. Both Vassar and Bard will travel to Rochester Institute of Technology this Friday for league matches. Vassar faces RIT on Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and plays both Skidmore and Union on Saturday.
Each of the three sets played out in similar fashion, with the Brewers jumping out to early leads and maintaining them throughout. Vassar was able to use its experience and depth in the match, with the entire roster getting playing time.

Bard was led by junior middle block Cara Chalk with four kills and sophomore outside hitter Mai Aurell-Foulser with three kills. Freshman Lexi Cooper had nine set assists and a team-high six digs.
