ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY (September 29, 2010) -- Although the Vassar College women's soccer team controlled possession and had many opportunities on the road against Bard College Wednesday night, the Brewers waited until the 81st minute to score the go-ahead goal for a 1-0 victory.

The Brewers improve to 8-2 overall (2-0 Liberty) and return to league play this weekend, hosting RPI this Saturday, September 2 at 2:00 p.m. The Raptors (3-5, 2-1 Skyline), host St. Joseph's College this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Bard will join the Liberty League next fall.

With a heavy dose of offense in the second half, sophomore Keiko Kurita took a short cross from senior Carolyn Demougeot on the wing and blasted it home in the 81st minute to take a 1-0 lead and reward the Brewers' aggressive play.

The Brewers dictated play throughout the game, and fired 10 shots on goal while holding the Raptors to a single shot.

Kurita scored her second goal of the season and is third on the team with eight points. Demougeout recorded her third assist of the season and leads the Brewers with 15 points.

Goalkeeper Lexi Hutton notched her second shutout of the season, the second straight for the Brewers, and improves to 6-1.
