POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (February 13, 2010) – The Vassar College men's tennis team opened its spring season with a 9-0 victory over Manhattanville College Saturday in Walker Field House.
The Brewers improve to 3-0 on the year and will next face the United States Coast Guard Academy Saturday, February 20, at 1:00 p.m. The Valiants fall to 2-2 and will next play Wooster on March 14 to kick off their Spring break trip in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Andrew Guzick looked particularly strong in their 8-1 victory over Manhattanville's Dean Tahir and Lance Dorfi.
“I was pleased with everyone's doubles play and that will definitely be one our strengths moving forward,” said Coach Ki Kroll.

Ben Guzick clinched the Vassar victory and picked up his first career win as Brewer with a dominating 6-2, 6-0 showing over Manhattanville's Julian Oribe.
The day's closest match came at the No. 6 spot where senior
Shane Donahue found his game late and rallied after losing the first set 6-4 against Manhattanville's Karim Mahmoud. Donahue quickly took the second set 6-1 and finished the superbreaker 10-6 to complete the Vassar sweep.
“I'm happy the spring season is rolling,” said Kroll, “and it should be a fun year.”
