NEW PALTZ, NY (November 20, 2010) -- Following a competitive race against Pace University that continued late into last night, the Vassar College women's swimming and diving team still posted several season bests in a 110-87 loss to SUNY New Paltz on Saturday afternoon at Elting Pool.

The Brewers (1-2-1) next hit the water for the Liberty League Championships hosted by Union College on December 3-4. The Hawks (3-1) race in the ECAC Championships on December 3-5.

Battling the fatigue of two meet in two days, “we did what we could but we didn't have the firepower,” said head coach Lisl Prater-Lee. “We're training hard and looking forward to Liberty Leagues.”

Vassar sophomore Sydnie Alquist finished second in the 200 yard freestyle with a season-best time of 2:06.24 seconds.

Senior Meg McCarty posted a season-best time of 36.77 seconds in the 50 yard free, good for fourth place.

Sophomore Alexandra Damon recorded a season-best 27.71 second split in the 200 free relay.
