DANBURY, CT (October 24, 2009) – The Vassar women's volleyball team will head into next Friday's opening matches of the annual VC Invitational on a high note and with a new winning streak. Following two losses at the Western Connecticut Invitational, the Brewers bounced back from a 0-2 set deficit in their final match against Babson to pull out a dramatic 3-2 victory (23-25, 18-25, 25-22, 25-16, 15-13).
The victory pushes the Brewers to 17-7 heading into next Friday's Invitational matches against Russell Sage at 4:00 p.m. and Rochester at 6:00 pm.

Hilary Koenigs, the Brewers rebounded from losing the first two sets against Babson to reel off three straight set wins, including a 15-13 victory in the fifth and deciding set. Koenigs led the way with a career-high 48 set assists to go with 15 digs and five kills. She had ample support up front as
Chloe McGuire had 19 kills, 13 digs and a block. Senior
Tess Johnson spearheaded the comeback with 18 kills.
In the opening match on Saturday, the Brewers lost to Wesleyan for the second time this season 3-1 (19-25, 25-22, 16-25, 24-26)
Koenigs had another superb match with 36 assists, 14 digs, four blocks and two kills. Senior
Sarah Potts had a solid 12 kills and four blocks. McGuire had a career-high 20 digs in the match.
