Despite the three goal loss, Vassar kept attacking. The Brewers were able to draw within 3-2 with 20 minutes to play in the game, but Rochester tallied two goals in a nine minute span to put the game out of reach.

The first 15 minutes of the game were played in the midfield. Then Bucarey, who had six shots in the game, began putting pressure on the Vassar defense. Another architect of this activity was junior forward Christi Bottcher (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton Area) who was difficult to mark. She had nine shots in the game, seven of which were on goal.

Bottcher began Rochester's scoring at 13:48, bringing the ball through the arc and slipping it past Vassar senior goalie Taylor Herman (Flemington, NJ/Hunterdon Central). In total, Herman faced 23 Rochester shots, 17 on goal. She had a season-high 12 saves in the game.

In the opening half, the Brewers had five of their nine shots, and had an opportunity to even the contest at 1-1, but three consecutive penalty corners were thwarted by the Rochester defense.

Bucarey got the first of her two goals at the 16 minute mark for a 2-0 Rochester lead, adeptly threading the ball through the middle of the crease and slapping it into the left side of the Vassar goal.

The Brewers got on the board less than a minute later when sophomore forward Jessica Lance (Enfield, CT/Enfield) notched her second goal of the season off an assist from freshman forward Maura McCarthy (Blue Bell, PA/Germantown Academy).

Just 1:46 into the second half, Bucarey extended the Rochester lead to 3-1, taking a feed from Bottcher.

The Brewers then made a run at the Yellow Jackets, closing the gap to 3-2 in the 50th minute following a give-and-go goal from senior Jessie Albert (West Hartford, CT/William H. Hall) off McCarthy's second assist of the game.

As the Brewers attempted to close in, the Yellow Jackets pulled away, getting two goals within a nine minute span for the 5-2 victory. Rochester's fourth goal came from junior Anna Dobrzysnki (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford) at the 57th minute and at the 66th minute from freshman Allison Beardsley (Weedsport, NY/Weedsport) off an assist from Bucarey.

Yellow Jackets junior goalie Danielle Pearson (Ilion, NY/Ilion) made four saves in the game.

The Brewers held a 12-9 advantage in penalty corners.
