SUNY New Paltz Box Score

NEW PALTZ, NY (September 24, 2008) -- The Vassar women's volleyball team dropped its Wednesday evening match to rival SUNY New Paltz, 25-20, 25-18, 25-11. The Brewers, now 5-8 on the season, will travel to Cambridge, MA this Friday and Saturday to participate in the MIT Invitational. The victory improves New Paltz to 14-0 on the season.

Vassar was led by freshman Amy Bavosa (Eastport, NY/Eastport Southmanor) with seven kills. Senior Mailynh Phan (Holbrook, NY/Sachem North) chipped in with seven digs and ten assists and freshman #Mary-Chris# Arena (Fairport, NY/Fairport) added seven digs.

The Hawks were led by Samantha Prudente (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) with eight kills and four digs. Melinda DiGiovanna (West Hempstead, NY/West Hempstead) chipped in with three kills and eight digs. Stephanie Bova (Central Square, NY/Central Square) led the Hawks with 24 assists, four kills and one block on the night.
