Women's Soccer Suffers First Loss to Stevens Institute of Technology

HOBOKEN, NJ (September 13, 2008) -- The Vassar women's soccer team suffered its first loss, 2-0, to Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday night in Hoboken. The Ducks scored both their goals in the second half en route to the victory.

With the loss, the Brewers fall to 2-1. They travel to Bard for a 7:00 p.m. game on Wednesday. Stevens improves to 3-1-1.

Katria Misilo got the Ducks on board in the 62nd minute, on an assist from Alicia Vandersluis. Stevens added an insurance goal with two and a half minutes remaining in the game, as Salme Cook scored on an assist from Katelyn Stewart.

The Ducks outshot the Brewers, 26-11. Nola Solomon (Washington, DC/Georgetown Day) led the Brewers with five shots and Emma Kemp (Albany, CA/Albany) chipped in with three.

Senior Anne Hutchinson (Tampa, FL/Tampa Preparatory), had six saves in goal for the Brewers.
