Men's Soccer Drops First Of Season, 4-1 To St. Lawrence

CANTON, NY (September 22, 2007) -- St. Lawrence handed Vassar's men's soccer team its first defeat of the season, 4-1, Saturday afternoon in a Liberty League contest. The Brewers, who defeated Clarkson 2-0 on Friday, are now 5-1, 1-1 on the season. St. Lawrence raises its record to 5-1-2, 2-0.

St. Lawrence soccer scored its first goal with the game only 1:17 old and never relinquished that lead. Senior forward David Osorno (Elmhurst, NY) netted the first goal for the Saints off a rebound that went behind VC goalie Jake London (Albany, NY).

Osorno also scored the second goal of the game, and his fifth goal of the season, with a lob shot from 35 yards out in the 25th minute. St. Lawrence got goals from Paul LaMarca (Mesa, AZ) and forward Charlie Bogosian (Manlius, NY).

Vassar got only the board two minutes after Bogosian scored. Freshman Marshall Hendrickson (San Francisco, CA) scored his first career goal in the 80th minute of play.

London had nine saves for the Brewers.
