NEW PALTZ, NY (October 24, 2007) -- Despite being out shot 31-10, a second-half goal by freshman Molly Luzak (Burt, NY/Newfane), with just under fifteen minutes to play in the game, earned SUNY Morrisville a 2-1 victory over Vassar College, in women's field hockey action played at SUNY New Paltz.
The loss drops Vassar to 3-12 on the season with one game remaining against local rival SUNY New Paltz on Saturday, October 27. Morrisville improves to 3-9.

The first half would end in a 2-2 tie. Morrisville stepped up its offensive attack and when freshman Jennifer May (Rochester, NY/Penfield) redirected in a Luzak pass at 18:46, it narrowed by Vassar lead to 2-1. Morrisville tied the game at 2-2 when freshman Chascity Bonczkiewicz (Mohawk, NY/Little Falls) hammered home an unassisted goal off Vassar senior goaltender
Ellie Pomerantz (Hartsdale, NY/The Hackley School). Pomerantz finished the half with two saves.
The second half had Vassar on the offensive, outshooting Morrisville 17-3 in the final 35 minutes. But Morrisville's ability stave off the attack was capably handled by sophomore goalie Stephanie Smith (Cedarville, NY/Mount Markham), who registered 19 saves in the game, including eleven in the second half.
