Claire Mattox

Claire Mattox joins the Vassar College women's basketball staff for the 2016-17 season, coming to Poughkeepsie after spending the last two seasons as an assistant women's basketball coach at the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. 

At the University of Saint Mary, Mattox served as the recruiting coordinator, along with assisting the head coach with other areas such as planning practices, skill development and game preperation. Furthermore, Mattox was the head JV coach, where her teams went a combined 18-22, playing mainly junior colleges. She also served in Athletic Operations Management while at Saint Mary, employing work study students that were in charge of organizing and overseeing all athletic events. 

Mattox has also coached with the Team Takeover 15U AAU program. 

A four-year starter at Washington College in Chestertown, MD, Mattox was selected as a team captain as a senior and also earned a spot on the 2012 All-Centenial Conference Sportsmanship Team. While at Washington, she also was selected to participate in the WBCA "So You Want To Be A Coach" program in 2014. She has also worked camps at Christopher Newport University and Vassar College.
