CHESTER, PA (March 20, 2009) -- Freshman attack Jack Gross (Yarmouth, ME/Yarmouth) scored a career high three goals and a stingy Vassar men's lacrosse defense held Neumann College scoreless in the first half, en route to an 11-4 victory Friday night in a game played at Widener University.

In registering their second straight victory over Neumann, the Brewers improve to 3-3 and will begin Liberty League play on Wednesday, March 25 on the road against at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at 4:00 p.m.

In its most dominating performance of the season, Vassar jumped out to a 9-0 lead midway through the third period before Neumann got on the board. Gross tallied a goal in each of the first three periods and got supporting offense from senior midfielder Issac Krull (Marblehead, MA/Marblehead) who tallied two goals. In total, Vassar got goals from eight different players.

Kroll extended the Vassar lead to 11-1 three minutes into the fourth period. Neumann tallied the game's final three goals.

Vassar set a season high with 45 shots on goal, with Neumann netminder Jack Boulay making 19 saves. Brewer sophomore goalie Alex Tice (Oakland, CA/St. Ignasius Prep) earned his third win of the season and registered nine saves.
