The Department of Athletics & Physical Education has announced the dates for its 2015 Summer Camps. The camps being offered are: boys and girls basketball, soccer and swimming. Learn the game of basketball in an exciting, challenging environment. Head Coach Candice Brown, will lead a qualified team of college coaches, players, and certified athletic trainer in daily activities intended to expose beginners to the game and to prepare active players for their upcoming season. The Vassar Girls' Basketball Camp is designed to expand each member's overall knowledge of the game and focuses on developing and refining fundamental skills. Girls, ages 7-15, will participate in individual and team drills that will improve their game while fostering camaraderie and leadership skills. Campers will showcase their talent in the new state-of-the-art Athletic and Fitness Center, which houses the basketball facilities used by the Vassar Brewers' Women's team. Upon completion, players will receive a Vassar t-shirt and player evaluation.

Two weeks: July 6-10 and July 13-17. Morning Session only 9am-11:30AMSimilar to last year we are offering the regular curriculum for both weeks of our camp. In addition we will also offer a morning only session for our beginning campers during both weeks of camp.
Players that attend the full day camp will be placed in instructional groups according to age, ability, and wishes. The camp is directed toward players with club and travel team experience. The focus will be the improvement of technical skills, as well as the development of small-sided tactical skills and a large team tactical understanding. Lunch is included in the price of the camp and will served in the Air-conditioned College Cafeteria. The camp includes a competitive indoor competition as well as full-sided outdoor games. Individual technical competitions at the end of the week provide additional excitement.
Beginning soccer players can attend the Vassar College Soccer Camp by attending the morning session from 9am to 11:30am each day. Emphasis is placed on technical skill development through fun and creative drills with enthusiastic and supportive coaches.
We encourage early sign up to avoid disappointment, as last year, both camps were filled prior to the start of each camp. Vassar head men's soccer coach Andy Jennings directs both sessions of the soccer camp.

Boy's Basketball July 20-July 24 (day) boys ages 7-15. Cost $260Established in 1998, the Vassar Basketball Camps provide the opportunity for participants of any skill level to learn and practice the fundamentals of basketball (court awareness, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defense, footwork, and shooting techniques). An integral part of the camp experience is the cultivation of sportsmanship and individual mental skills. Strategic thinking and the exercise of initiative on the court are taught, developed, and implemented through drills, competitive games, and shooting contests. Camp features such as demonstrations, free-play, and an all-you-can-eat lunch ensure a balanced atmosphere for learning in a structured and fun environment. Each camper receives a Vassar t-shirt and certificate of participation. Achievement awards are presented to outstanding participants. BJ Dunne, Vassar's head men's basketball coach, directs the camp. His staff will consist of other college coaches and qualified college-level players who will provide individual attention to all participants, and a certified athletic trainer.

Vassar College Lacrosse Summer Showcase: July 20-22. Cost: $650This recruiting event will feature high school players from the 2016, 2017 and 2018 classes interested in playing lacrosse at the collegiate level in an exceptional academic setting. At the Showcase you will have the opportunity to be coached, taught, and evaluated by the staff here at Vassar as well as coaches from other strong DI and DIII colleges (to be determined). Participants will be organized into teams that will each be led by a college coach and a Vassar Men's Lacrosse player. Our staff will lead you through a college practice, drills and skills (by position and in team settings), daily presentations on a different team skill, as well as games throughout the three days. Our Brewers Strength and Conditioning coach will be on hand to lead dynamic warm-ups, give a strength and conditioning session, and to answer any question you might have about getting bigger, faster, and stronger. Our coaching staff will also give a recruiting presentation about the Division I, II, and III recruiting processes.
The Summer Showcase will beheld from July 20-22nd at Vassar College Prentiss Athletics Fields on Hooker Avenue. All participants will be housed in a Vassar College dormitory and meals with be served in our All Campus Dining Center (ACDC). Drop-off and registration will be held Monday 7/20 from 11:00-1:30 am and pick-up is Wednesday 7/22 from 1:00-2:00 pm. There will also be an opportunity for an optional campus tour on Wednesday from 1:30-3:30 pm. The cost for the Summer Showcase will be $650 and registration is through our camp website. Our event will have 24 hr adult supervision and will also be staffed by a professional Athletic Trainer(s).

Vassar Women's Soccer Elite ID Camp: July 29-August 1. Cost: $550
Camp BrochureVassar Women's Soccer Elite ID Camp is designed for those female high school soccer players who aspire to play at the college level. Participants will be coached in a team-like environment with two practice sessions a day and a daily opportunity to play a full-sided match. While we will train the technical aspects of the game (passing, shooting, dribbling, etc.) our main focus is to challenge players to think more analytically about the game of soccer. The biggest difference in the game at the college level is that coaches expect players not only to make a good decision, but also to make the best decision and to do it as quickly as possible. Our job is to push you past your previous comfort level to create an environment that will expose you to the demands of the college game.
Vassar head coach Corey Holton and assistant coach Pam Monnier will coach all participants throughout the session. In addition, current Vassar women's soccer student-athletes will assist in training and coaching.
Participants will stay in the dormitories on the Vassar College campus in Poughkeepsie, NY located in the beautiful Hudson Valley. All meals are included in the cost of camp as well as a training shirt.

Vassar Women's Basketball Prospect Camp: August 8. Cost: $135The Women’s Basketball Prospect Camp is a one-day event open to high school aged girls, in the classes of 2016, 2017, and 2018. The Camp is designed to expose current high school players interested in Vassar with high-level instruction in a collegiate environment. Programming will include technical and tactical development through college level drills and 5 v 5 play. A campus tour, an information session with a representative from the admissions office, and a question and answer session with current Vassar Women's Basketball players will be included.
This is a great opportunity to experience an inside look into the Vassar College Women’s Basketball Program, while enjoying Vassar's beautiful campus, training with the women's basketball coaching staff and interacting with current Vassar players.
