Vassar College Elite Girls Residential Soccer Academy
July 18-July 21, 2011 (ages 12-18)
In the summer of 2007, a year after joining the Vassar women’s soccer program, head coach Richard Moller conducted his first Vassar Elite Girls Residential camp. For the last three years campers came from all over the country, representing states such as California, Florida, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Maryland, New Jersey, Texas, Vermont, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and New Hampshire, among others. The Vassar Soccer Academy even drew campers from other countries, such as Canada, France and, Belgium.
“The diversity of our camp reflects the diversity of our roster. Our student-athletes come from 15 different states and two student-athletes come from different countries. I love the diversity on our team and what every player brings to the table. It almost feels like you are putting your own National Team together,” says Coach Moller.
In the summer of 2010, from July 7-11, Coach Moller will host his fourth Residential Camp, on the newly refurbished soccer complex, featuring two grass fields, a turf field, and professional-style box goals.
The camp offers the opportunity to receive elite instruction from college coaches as well as the chance to learn more about Vassar for those who are interested in the institution academically and athletically.
“I absolutely love this camp. During the week I meet and coach dedicated young girls from all over the world who want play soccer at the next level. Each year I also witness great friendships being shaped amongst the campers who now have friends all over the world,” says Coach Moller.
