Vassar College's Student Athlete Advisory Committee is sponsored by the College's Department of Athletics and Physical Education. As such, the mission of the group is to uphold the mission of the Department while concurrently providing a source of representation for Vassar College's student athletes. Additionally, the group coordinates with the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division Three National SAAC.
SAAC is a voice for Vassar athletes, acting as a liaison to the athletics administration, the NCAA, and Vassar administration. We help to provide insight on the student athlete experience by giving input on rules, regulations, and policies of Vassar Athletics and of the NCAA. Our goal as SAAC is to help better the lives of student athletes. Not only are we here to listen to our athletes, but we are also here to act on those needs and suggestions to make everyone's experience the fullest and best it can be.We continue to work to strengthen the communities within and outside of Vassar. We want to try and help bridge the gap between Vassar athletes and non-athletes, strengthen ties throughout the Vassar athletics community, and narrow the divide between Vassar and the outside community.
