POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (March 27, 2017) —
Philip Brown was named Track Performer of the Week,
Jackie Cenan was tabbed Field Performer of the Week, and runner
Adin Becker was pegged Rookie of the Week, as five Vassar College student-athletes were honored in this week's Liberty League release, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Julia Trudell were also recognized in the release, earning Honor Roll nods for their performances this past week.
Brown was great at the 22nd annual Monmouth Season Opener, as he defeated a field of mostly Division I runners in earning the victory with a time of 31:25.09 in the 10K. The time was an ECAC Championships qualifying time, while setting the school record at Vassar by over 30 seconds.
Cenan had a strong first competition day for the Brewers, as she crushed the previous school record in the shot put by nearly four meters. Cenan tossed the shot 11.21 meters, which eclipsed the previous school mark of 7.81 meters set in 2012.
Becker had a strong showing at the 22nd annual Monmouth Season Opener, as he finished third in an elite field of mostly Division I runners, posting a school record in the 3K with a time of 8:45.43, besting the second-longest standing school record at Vassar.
Houston-Read was productive in both of VC's games last week, totaling six points on three goals and a trifecta of assists to go along with three ground balls. In Vassar's 10-8 win over Colby on Tuesday, the senior attack sparked a 4-0 run with an assist for
Michael Mullen to net a buzzer-beater at the end of the first quarter. Houston-Read dished out his second straight assist to start the second stanza, finding
James Thomas to tie the game at 3-all. Houston-Read found the back of the net himself in the fourth quarter, thanks to a pass from
Brandon DeStasio, 9-6. In, VC's 11-5 setback at Skidmore, Houston-Read led the offensive effort with three points on a pair of goals and an assist to go along with three ground balls. Houston-Read helped the Brewers jump out to a 2-1 advantage, dishing to
Chris Billups for a goal before finding the back of the net himself with a pass from
Chris Koester. He later capped scoring with an unassisted goal in the fourth quarter. Through eight games, Houston-Read has collected 20 points on a nine assists and a team-leading 11 goals.
Trudell was stellar across the board, notching a pair of hat tricks and totaling six ground balls, three created turnovers and four draw controls during Vassar's 1-1 week. In VC's 13-12 win over Conn College, Trudell netted three goals and created a turnover. In the back-and-forth affair, Trudell gave the Brewers a 2-1 advantage with an unassisted score before netting back-to-back Brewer goals late in the second half. In VC's 12-8 loss to FDU-Florham, Trudell notched her second straight hat trick, while adding team-highs in ground balls (6) and draw controls (4). The senior captain opened scoring with a goal after gathering her own rebound in the first minute. She later interrupted an FDU run with a goal from
Phoebe Hankins before fueling a 3-0 VC run with a score in the second half. Through six games, Trudell has collected 11 points, nine ground balls, four created turnovers and 15 draw controls.
